This education resource explores the 1824 declaration of Martial Law, Gudyarra (the Bathurst War) and the key figures around these events. 2024 marks the 200th anniversary of the declaration. This learning experience is aligned with years 7 & 8 History curriculum and the cross-curriculum priority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures from the Australian Curriculum (Version 9), and the NSW Syllabus including years 7 & 8 (Stage 4) History. Teachers are encouraged to differentiate learning and engagement with these activities in a culturally safe way to support learning for all students.
